Welcome

My plan with this site is to blog about my IT journey in the industry and help fellow travelers in their own journey. In the upcoming weeks I will be releasing my study materials for the multiple certifications I’ve worked for, labs for the certifications, projects I’ve been building, and generally talk about my experiences in the industry.

Currently, I work as an IT technician, however my current goals are to get deeper into networking and security. My certifications include the Cisco’s CCNA, CompTIA’s Security+, Microsoft’s AZ 900, and Microsoft’s AI 900. At this moment, I am studying for the Cisco’s CCNP ENSARI and Microsoft’s AZ-104 trying to deepen my knowledge in both Networking and Cloud. Recently, I have also participated in Defcon’s Training as a SOC analyst by Rod Soto, which I highly recommend to enhance your knowledge in SIEMs and EDRs.

For those who are trying to get into the IT industry I have three major recommendations. First, learn Linux with a VM in VMware Workstation, and play around with the box till you feel comfortable with using Linux as your main box. Next, learn a programming language you feel comfortable with. As of now, python is a very popular scripting language that is use almost everywhere, from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to Network Automation. Finally, my last recommendation is learn your networking. It might be tedious but I highly recommend going for Cisco’s CCNA which will give you hands on labs and teach you the underlying TCP/IP model IT professionals work with. Finally, I want to reach out and let you the reader to know this is a beginner friendly site. If you have any questions, please don’t be afraid to reach out!
